This 2008 Mercedes-Benz CL550 Coupe was ordered new with the AMG Sport Package, which added body styling elements and the 19-inch AMG wheels. The included CARFAX vehicle history report shows steady maintenance by Mercedes-Benz dealers under previous owners, and just one report of minor damage in 2019. This was caused by an automated driveway gate contacting the passenger rear quarter panel. Aside from that repair, all the car’s metal and paint are reported to be original. The mileage, also corroborated by the Carfax, is low for the car’s age. The car stands out due to the clean and tidy paint and interior. Service and maintenance are up to date, the air conditioning blows cold, and the car currently does not need anything.
This was the second year for the flagship C216 series CL coupe, a true “hardtop” with no B-pillar. Power for the CL550 came from a 5.5-liter V8 teamed with a seven-speed automatic transmission. The key to this car’s exemplary ride, handling, and roll control was the automaker’s electro-hydraulic Active Body Control (ABC) semi-active suspension. The car’s top-of-class luxury, safety, and user tech included climate-control seats and an infrared night vision system. The car’s safety features, including Distronic adaptive cruise control and Blind Spot Assist, were pioneering technologies for the auto industry.
With just over 80,000 miles from new it is an impressive car for not a lot of money. Jeff says its a stud muffin - with a zero to sixty time of 4.5 seconds. Vroooom! Acquired 5/16/2025
